Scam Alert OLX And Quikr : Not Worth it!

Hey Guys , hows it going.

Welcome and in today's topic we have OLX and Quikr Scam on Alert.

So recently , Samsung Launced its Galaxy S9 , and it costs alot and thats why many people wanted to get it for cheap price rather would it be a 2nd Hand device or a First hand.

Now , many of my friends were asking me to wether go for a 2nd Hand Device or should i get a new first hand device.And i asked him about his budget and he told it was near about 30 - 40K ₹ , and he specifically wanted a Samsung Device with a good Camera.

So i recommended him to go with Galaxy S9 , but its price is little towards expensive side so he refused to go for S9 and asked for any other device in same price bracket by Samsung with better camera.And Looking at the new Samsung Devices , its pretty hard to choose a device within a low price bracket by Samsung and still get better performance.

So i told him to look up for a second hand Galaxy S9 , and he was okay with it.So at first he was unable to find a S9 in his city on Quikrr so he looked up at OLX at his city , and there were three Galaxy S9 in city listed for selling and most of them were between 30K₹ -40K₹.

So he decided to go with OLX for his Device and got in touch with the seller.Now , when my friend asked that where can he meet to the seller , the seller said that he doesn't live in his city , so he (the seller) will ship the device to his place and the only thing that my friend was asked to do was to give ₹5 Thousand as an Advance.But my friend refused to do so , and when my friend asked why he(the seller ) needed money for , the seller started the Emotional Play Game.And when my friend asked him for proof , he gave the pictures of His Adhaar Card and the Invoice of the mobile.

Now the thing was , the name on the Adhaar Card and as on the Invoice was different.

So i told my friend to refuse this offer and get to the another seller.And he refused to the current seller and got in contact with another seller.

So , the other seller was onboard to sell his Samsung Galaxy S9 for ₹30K ! Which is an absolute mad price for such a amazing device.So time passed by and the current seller which is the 2nd seller also said the same things as the first seller said.And guess what , he also provided my friend with the same Adhaar Card and Same invoice.Now here things started getting little bit fishy and i told my friend to ask him(the first seller and the 2nd seller) wether any of both of them have listed any other Ad for the same device , and both of them said No!.

And it was time so i told my friend to not to give any personal details and money to the seller and he moved for the 3rd seller.And again the 3rd seller also did the same thing and asked for advance money and provided the same Adhaar Card and invoice as a proof.

I told my friend to look for another device and he did find and bought another device and is now using it.

Alright , so the reason i felt to share this thing with you People is to spread awareness.I thought it would be more helpful for many people and it would be useful as well at the same time.

So What are things you should consider before buying anything 2nd Hand from OLX and Quikrr :-

1.)Do not go alone :- Never go alone and dont go to a sketchy place even if someone is paying a good price just invite them at your locality where you know you can trust people , because there are many mad robbery cases by OLX listed ads.If the person doesn't want to come at your locality, take someone with you for safety.

2.)Never Pay Money in Advance :- This is the most important thing you should consider.Because people fool anybody by emotions and blackmail them later.

3.)Do not Buy Expensive Gadgets / Products through OLX or Quikr :- Because we never know how rough it has been used or how well it was maintained and possibly it can also be a similar scam.

4.)Try to Avoid OLX Or Quikrr :- Compare the prices of the 1st Hand Product and the one listed Ad on OLX or Quikr , if the price varies by just ₹500 or ₹1000 then its okayish and considerable getting a 1st Hand product instead of a 2nd Hand

5.)Last but not least :- Safety is the first priority , not the money.Life is more expensive than Money , dont go in flow away even if you feel that this person is not safe , try to get away from the place as quick as possible because you never know what's gonna happen next!
